>> Version française de cette page Our projects in China Casavant Frères has been selected to install instruments in China. By the year 2010, two modern concert halls in this country will be equipped with large mechanical Casavant organs.
Ordos, Inner Mongolia
The first project is located in Ordos, a modern city of 1.3 millions inhabitants founded in February 2001, prefecture of the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia, in north of China.
With a total floor area of nearly 40,000 m2, the Ordos National Theater will be integrating a theater, a concert hall, a movie and cultural areas. The concert hall of 837 seats will be hosting the Casavant organ.
The Casavant Opus 3885 will be a 3-manual 56-stop mechanical organ equipped with a second console to be moveable on the stage. The facade of the organ will be installed in July 2009, whereas the remaining of the organ will be finished in the first half of 2010.

The second project is located in Hefei, the capital of the Anhui province, a city funded under the Han dynasty in the 2nd century BC.
The Hefei Grand Theater is located in the cultural new district at the south of Swan Lake. The ellipsoidal complex of 60,000 m2 will be composed of three spaces : a opera hall, a concert hall and a multi-functionnal hall. The 1002-seat concert hall will be hosting the Casavant Opus 3883.
The Casavant Opus 3883 will be a 4-manual 60-stop mechanical organ equipped with a second console to be moveable on the stage. This organ will be completed in the second half of 2010.
