Opus 3868, 2008

Seward, Nebraska

When Concordia University Nebraska began soliciting proposals for a new recital hall organ in 2004, it quickly became clear that Casavant was a builder who both completely understood our vision for this instrument and was capable of bringing it to fruition.  As the primary teaching instrument at Concordia, the organ is tonally eclectic, capable of handling nearly any piece of repertoire.  The specification offers a large diversity in the tonal palette, while the voicing magnificently matches the intimate size of our recital hall.  And, it represents the highest artistic standards, both architecturally and musically.

It has been my extreme pleasure to work with the entire staff of Casavant and watch Opus 3868 come to life.  The care and concern that was shown in every detail of this instrument is evidenced by the marvelous beauty that radiates daily from its new home.  This is an instrument which truly inspires those who play as well as those who listen.  It will be a tremendous blessing to our campus community and will play an integral role in the training of future musicians for many generations to come.
